His journey began in Jackson, TN, where his upbringing was enriched by Montessori principles, fostering a holistic approach to personal growth, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence from an early age. This foundation was further developed through leadership programs like 4-H and Young Scholars Academy and extensive involvement in university organizations, where Malik honed his skills in leadership, advocacy, and public service.

Malik’s professional path is deeply rooted in therapeutic consulting and mental health advocacy. At Exodus Mental Health Recovery Center, he gained invaluable experience working with clients dealing with sexual abuse, substance abuse, trauma, eating disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. His roles in case management, crisis intervention, and group facilitation provided a solid base for his career, emphasizing the importance of advocacy and individualized care. Transitioning to Urban Restoration Counseling Center, a culturally-focused private practice, Malik expanded his expertise in individual therapy and group work, addressing the unique needs of youth, men, women, and LGBTQ+ communities. His work also included family, couples, and marriage therapy, deepening his understanding of diverse client needs and enhancing his collaborative approach.

Beyond direct therapy, Malik has contributed to mental health advocacy through roles like a Mental Health Specialist for the podcast series "Brother Be Well," which boosted his confidence in public speaking and educational consulting. His commitment to advocacy and community service has remained constant, whether working with youth in educational settings, supporting college students, or addressing mental health in various platforms.

As a professional, Malik is not just a consultant but a collaborator. He believes in working alongside his clients, drawing from his extensive experience in both clinical and community-based settings to provide personalized, intentional support that prioritizes mental well-being. His approach is rooted in empathy, adaptability, and a deep understanding of cultural dynamics. With three years of supervisory experience and five years of team management, Malik is skilled in leading diverse teams and fostering environments where both individuals and groups can thrive.

Malik’s dedication to holistic development, his passion for mental health advocacy, and his extensive background make him uniquely suited to lead Malik Mentality Therapeutic Consulting Services.
